September 2025 Newsletter
Dear Friends,
The Lord is moving mightily among His people in Kenya, and we rejoice for the abundant fruit from our investment in Mary Kithuure’s CEF ministry. In December, Mary used our Christmas gift to her to travel to Kakuyuni to conduct a Christmas party club. Twelve teachers and 130 children attended, with 32 children receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Her passion to bring the Gospel took her to this remote area described by one of the natives as, “a baby who refused to grow – a retarded island that has history of human habitation spanning over 3 centuries.” Her love for these people took her back to conduct Discipling Children classes for 15 teachers. Anticipating an abundant harvest for God’s kingdom, we gladly provided the funding to make this training possible.
From Kakuyuni, Mary and her team traveled 10 hours to lead an outreach seminar we sponsored for 30 teachers at Njukini in Tharaka County. This remote area has no Bible clubs for children, so she was breaking fallow ground for sharing the Gospel through Child Evangelism Fellowship. The seminar was conducted in a village with no electricity or cell service. Evangelizing children was a new concept for the teachers, who were surprised that young children could be born again. They all signed up to attend Evangelizing Children training.
Our team visited the privately-owned Hill Base Academy, which we added to our network in 2022. Serving the children of the nomadic Maasai people of Kajiado County, the school survives on well-wishers’ gifts, so the clothes and other things we brought were much needed and greatly appreciated. During their visit, our team showed a powerful movie entitled The Prodigal Son. After the screening, they discussed with the children the teachings from the story, which emphasizes forgiveness, humility, and the love of God. The students listened attentively and actively participated. After the movie and discussion, we treated the children to juice, bread, and biscuits – a rare, joyful event for them.
Among the items we distributed were Dress-A-Girl handmade dresses to the girls and football jerseys to the school team. The girls loved their new dresses, and the team expressed their gratitude, mentioning that it was the first time any of them had ever received a jersey. The joy on children’s faces was priceless. We also gifted Bibles to the older students, encouraging them to be good students, go to church, and read their Bibles regularly.

Twenty-two hardy souls gave up their Saturday last month to spend 5 hours on a hot, sunny day to pack our 40-foot container destined for Kenya. Only the love of God and joy in serving could motivate people to do that! We are so grateful to each volunteer from Mt. Vernon and Berea Baptist churches along with our super packers Bob and Kim Schultz, who traveled down from PA again this year to lead the team.

We pray for the Lord’s blessing on all those who enable us to serve Him through their prayers, financial support, donations of items to fill our containers, and help with the many activities in Kenya and in the US.

Blessings,
