January 2026 Newsletter
Dear Friends,
In 2026, we plan to build on the foundation we have laid in Western Kenya. It is a fertile field, where teachers are eager to learn how to lead children to Christ and to help them grow in faith. Prior to the introduction of Good News Clubs in 2023, there were no Bible clubs for children in the region, and today there are 64. Our goal is to add 25 clubs this year. Our 30 latrine and water projects will be mostly in facilities new to our network, so we can introduce Good News Clubs into a wider area. We will not; however, neglect our friends in schools and orphanages across Kenya as we continue to share the Lord’s love and Word in tangible and fun ways.
Delvine and Phylis, who attended the November 2025 Evangelizing Children training, invited our Kenyan team to visit their church in Mapera, which is in the interior of Western Kenya. Although the church building is still under construction, the leaders are faithfully sharing the Word of God. Delvine and Phylis have already started a Good News Club, which met during our team’s visit. Seventy-five children, plus a number of adults attended. Victor shared from John 3:16 how deeply God loves us and what a great sacrifice He made by giving His only Son for our salvation. The team distributed Bibles and encouraged the children and adults to read the Word and allow it to guide their lives. We prepared and served a meal to all the attendees plus 30 people from the village who came to learn what all the excitement was about. This was a blessed time of fellowship.

Our team completed the first 4 of our 45 planned facility site visits in January. Visiting Hill Base Academy, they had fun with the adorable children served by this charity school. Although the school has no funds to renovate its facilities, the children are well cared for with their immaculate uniforms and well-groomed hair. Imagine these little ones’ amazement at the colorful machine that produces popcorn and their excitement at getting their own bag of this delicious treat!
While the children below get an “A” for their intense effort on the puzzle, they are going to need a new plan for getting the 1,000 pieces together.

We visited Magodo Rescue Center in January as well. This orphanage, home to 300 children, has been part of our journey from the ministry’s inception. The children are always excited when we come, but this visit brought surprises that delighted them. The popcorn machine intrigued them, and the gifts of Winnie the Pooh characters and books, footballs (soccer balls), and the Richmond Elite jerseys for both the boys’ and girls’ teams were treasures. The girls’ dresses and boys’ shorts, puzzles, coloring materials, and toys added to the excitement. The teachers shared that this extraordinarily day will long be remembered.

We are excited to start another year of ministry and are so grateful for all those who support us through financial contributions, donated articles for our shipments, and help with the work of the ministry. My thanks to each one of you.

Blessings,
Kathy Carlin, Director Serving in Jesus Name
