Founding Director. Board Secretary and Treasurer.
Residing in Richmond, VA, Kathy delights in being just a few miles from her two daughters, their husbands, and her five grandchildren, who range in age from 20 to 9. Her son and his wife live in Florida, which is farther away than she would like, but she loves to visit, especially in the winter.
Kathy has worked as an IT project manager and analyst for over 30 years, and although most of her friends have retired, she thoroughly enjoys the creativity her job allows. In addition to her role in Serving in Jesus’ Name, she serves on the Prayer, Hospitality, and Meals Teams at Hope Church in Richmond.
She is also a mentor with Precious to God, a Richmond-based ministry to trafficked and exploited woman. Coming to a relationship with Jesus Christ as a young mother, Kathy has spent the last four plus decades walking in His sanctifying grace. Most recently, He is giving her a more profound understanding of what it means to live a 1 Corinthians 13 kind of love. Since God is love, and Christ is God, Jesus is the incarnation of love, and her heart’s desire is for Him to give her this kind of love for Him and others.
I Corinthians 13:4-8 – Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, and does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
