Dear Friends,
October was a busy month both at home and in Kenya. As we prepare to ship a container to Kenya, we, as was the Apostle Paul, are so grateful for the grace the Lord is giving us in the privilege of sharing the unfathomable riches of Christ through our ministry (Ephesians 3:8).
Our Kenyan team made a number of site visits to schools and orphanages in October. Deliveries included Bibles, Dear God Activity Books, school supplies, and much more. Knowing what a blessing the sundresses are to the girls, we were delighted to hear from Jane Nichols Bishop, Ambassador for Dress A Girl Northern New England, that they have committed to provide us with another 2,000 dresses in 2024.
Jesus said “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” (John 7:37-39). In completing our 2023 rainwater catchment projects, our prayer is for the Lord to use the Scriptures painted on the tanks and the refreshing water flowing from them to bring many children and their caretakers into an ever-deepening relationship with Him.
On the home front, we had fun handing out around 800 Scripture card packets, along with candy, to children attending the Trunk or Treat Events at Mount Vernon and Berea Baptist Churches. Even the rain did not dampen the spirits of the 1800 people attending the Mount Vernon since the “trunks” and the nearly 40,000 pieces of candy were moved indoors.
As always, we are grateful for each of you who make it possible for us to continue the ministry of Serving in Jesus’ Name by your prayers, financial support, donated items, and help with sorting and packing. Thank you!!!
Blessings,
Kathy Carlin, Executive Director
