The Lord has done great things for us, and we are rejoicing (Psalm 126:3)! The container has been safely delivered to its temporary location near Immaculate’s rented home, but the process was not without drama! After two months at sea, the ship entered the Mombasa port in Kenya in mid-August. However, our container was held up for 10 days, accruing hundreds of dollars of storage fees per day. Finally, with the help of a friend who works at the port, the container was found, the extra fees were waived, and the container was quickly released. We are greatly relieved and exhilarated as we plan for the distribution of its precious cargo.
Other Activities in August at Serving in Jesus’ Name
We are actively looking for a venue to host our “annual” winter apparel giveaway event. Since Appalachia is currently hard hit with COVID, our dear friends, James and Jessica Koger, feel an event this year would be unwise.
We were able to provide boxes of Bibles for our friend Al Manning with Encouraging Encounters to hand out. Al loves to develop relationships as he shares the Word of God while providing material support to those the Lord puts into his path.
We are thankful for all the wonderful people who are sharing in this ministry of love with us, and we are grateful for each of you who support Serving in Jesus’ Name with your prayers, contributions, donated articles, and help sorting, packing, and transporting. God is faithful
Blessings, Kathy Carlin, Executive Director
