In 2017, Hurricane Irma caused widespread flooding, agricultural damage, and livestock losses in Haiti. This came only a year after Matthew sliced through this island nation causing massive damage to its building and infrastructure, while wiping out much of the country’s farms. These blows by nature devastated Haiti, which was already the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the poorest countries in the developing world.
The underprivileged children in Haiti suffered deprivation as did much of the country. Desiring to demonstrate God’s love to the orphaned and improvised children in the schools run by Faith and Love in Action its leaders reached out to its supporters asking them to provide bags filled with clothes and toiletries as a gift to the children.
